4 lis 2013 · Mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) is a rare tumor of the lung that accounts for 0.1 to 0.2% of all pulmonary tumors [1]. MECs most often arise from the parotid or submandibular salivary glands. Most pulmonary MECs arise in the proximal bronchi.
We report a case of a 46-year-old woman who presented with dyspnea on exertion. Imaging studies revealed a mass involving the right upper lobe bronchus. Bronchoscopy, surgical resection, and pathological examination revealed a low-grade MEC with tumor-free margins. No adjuvant treatment was given.
