13 kwi 2024 · The 1st image is of Ordovician Flexicalymene meeki trilobites that I found in a creek bed in the Arnheim (sunset?) formation in Mt. Orab, Ohio. I identified these trilobites as F. meeki based on their relatively wide and sharp cephalons (heads).
27 sie 2017 · I had the Privilege to be invited to dig at the Famed Trilobite Farm in Mt. Orab Ohio by Dan Cooper. Home of some of the best preserved trilobites in the world. I met Dan at a rest stop at 7 a.m. Saturday and we proceed to the location.

Fossil Site: Arnheim formation, Highland County, Ohio. A large and pristine example of a common trilobite from the Ordovician of Ohio, Flexicalymene retrorsa, a Calymenid trilobite (Order Phacopida; Family: Calymenidae) coming from the Ordovician Richmond Formation strata of Mount Orab, Ohio.
The Mt. Orab bed, near the town of Mt. Orab, Ohio (Fig. 2), is an informal unit that is locally well known for the abundant enrolled trilobites (Feree, 1994) that occur throughout its 0.46-meter thickness.
