If you know your password, but just want to change it, go to account.microsoft.com Security tab, and select Change my password. If you know your username and password but they have stopped working, read My username and password have stopped working.
From the Password security tile, select Change my password. On the Change your password page, enter your current password and then enter your new password. For additional security, select the optional checkbox which prompts you to update your password every 72 days.
If you ever need to recover access to your account again, this code will help. You should print it or write it down, and store it in a safe place. We strongly recommend that you don't store your recovery code on a device. If you previously had a recovery code, it is no longer valid. Use this new code instead.
