Maplestory 2 is a 3D Fantasy MMORPG with an emphasis on player-created content. It is the sequel to the widely popular MapleStory and takes place in the same game world, but with plenty of added features and a whole new dimension! "Thriving" is more like life support mode with rehashed content for the past two years. It's not dead, but the way the devs treat the game it might as well be. For an off brand version of ms2 to succeed it'd have to fix how they handled progression, and take advantage of the whole chibi social game aesthetic better than MS2 does.
We're a little-over-a-year old private server for MS2. We have recently upgraded to a 2.0 version that included class rebal and (custom) Kandura mostly. Rosa isn't out *yet* but we have lots of plans for the future.
There are a grand total of 11 different classes in MS2 so far, but instead of classifying them as "damage" and "supports," you should actually classify them in terms of "short, mid, and long range" classes. Short distance classes: Knight, Berserker, Thief, Striker Mid range: Priest, Rune Blader
