Microsoft DOS 6.22 was the last standalone version from Microsoft. It was also the last from Microsoft to run on an 8088, 8086, or 286. 6.22 adds DriveSpace, a replacement for DOS 6.20's DoubleSpace drive compression that was removed in 6.21.

11 sie 2015 · After many failed attempts of trying to install MS-DOS 7.0 and not feeling it with FreeDOS, I have decided to try to install MS-DOS 6.22. Unfortunately, there was no guide on the internet to help me and I did not feel the will to get USB Floppy Drives and Floppies. I tried to emulate using a USB Pen Drive but all my attempts have failed.

9 lip 2017 · According to this link, it's not possible at all to use Rufus to create a bootable USB for specific versions of MS-DOS. By contrast, UNetbootin seems to accept the ISO when creating the bootable USB, but booting into it causes the boot loop described here.
