30 sty 2018 · The authoring program I'm using, DVDStyler, offers two options about the encoding of the final audio: MP2 or AC3. My DVD players have the capability to correctly reproduce the MP4 files with AAC audio (just for information).
For example, MP3 and AAC dominate the personal audio market in terms of market share, though many other formats are comparably well suited to fill this role from a purely technical standpoint.
10 mar 2014 · Your best bet is probably to include a PCM audio track as well as a DTS or MP2 stream. DVD's support multiple audio tracks for the same timeline and the track to use can be selected from the DVD menu.
6 sie 2012 · HDV uses an audio format called MPEG1-Layer2 (MP2). Similar to the better known MP3 format, MP2 uses acoustic modeling to remove audio that is likely to be imperceptible. Just like with MP3 files, the quality of MP2 audio is largely based on the bitrate it is encoded at.

12 mar 2008 · AC3 has somewhat better compression than MP2. 384Kbps AC3 can handle 5.1 channels, 384Kbps MP2 only 2. AC3 2 channel is typically 192Kbps.
12 mar 2008 · ac3 is the best choice, 384 kbps stereo will almost certainly suffice, but you need a Dolby licensed encoder. If this isn't an option, then mp2, subject to compatibility, is the better choice.
