25 maj 2004 · About AC3 vs. MP2: Both probably sound good enough at bitrates around 256kbps stereo. MP2 has the added advantage of having a free good-quality implementation (tooLame). The free AC3 implementation outputs terrible quality, and AC3 software encoders tend to be very expensive.
