Also, it seems that most reliable way to find out default browser is to query HKCU\SOFTWARE\Clients\StartMenuInternet (notice HKCU instead of HKLM) and check the value. It will be IEXPLORE.EXE, FIREFOX.EXE, Google Chrome, Chromium.SOMERANDOMSTRING or OperaStable for the most popular browsers.
20 sie 2017 · I would assume it has similar signatures and pathing of the registry. Try looking in Mozzila or Software directories. Program files (x86) has Firefox's files, but there are also some files in the %userprofile%\appdata\ path.

This chrome registry is configurable and persistent, and thus a user can install different chrome providers, and select a preferred skin and locale.
