  5. The first building was erected at 10th and Minnesota Streets in downtown Saint Paul. In 1871 they hired their first rabbi, Rabbi Leopold Wintner, a Hungarian immigrant who had a liberal spirit. Mount Zion joined the Reform Movement officially in 1878.
