13 sie 2010 · I have seen UOA of this same type of oil with higher levels of P and Zn. Don't know why the levels are that low.
13 sie 2010 · 5W50 is the OEM spec oil for the GT500. Oil pressure gauge reads the same at beginning and end of OCI. Yes I am currently using Red Line 5W50 in the 5.4L motor. Red Line 5W50 is a thick oil but at 100 degree C, it is a 50 grade oil just like the Motorcraft so I don't see where you are evaluating it is 2 grades thicker than MC.
14 lut 2024 · Any API certified 5w50 synthetic oil will be acceptable from a warranty perspective, and many great 5w50 oils are available for a good price. I suggest you look for the monthly sales at Napa Auto Parts for Mobil 1 5w50 and Castrol Syntec 5w50, which usually pop up around $7 a quart.
13 lut 2019 · I've used Motorcraft Synthetic Blend 5w-20 on my past 2 F150's with great results. They were both OHC engines that made it to 180k and over 200k miles prior to me trading them off with no engine issues. I am trying to plan ahead and see what I want to do with my recently acquired 2016 2.7 Ecoboost. I know it requires 5w-30.

18 mar 2022 · I use Amsoil 5W50 Signature Series, which I recommend. I buy mine direct from Amsoil, since there are no places within practical driving distance from me I've found that carry that particular weight Amsoil. For filters, stick with the Motorcraft FL 2087 filter, currently in scare supply.
7 wrz 2019 · The oil was dark and looked pretty nasty, although a bit of kitchen sink chromatography had indicated that all was well (a blotter test). So here's the UOA result: Motorcraft oil gets a lot of hate for being the OEM product, but frankly this oil is doing an excellent job in my GT350.
