2 wrz 2016 · The air filter was dirty and was replaced with a new one with no change. Compression wet/dry both 120 psi. Oil was filled to correct level and it used 1/4" on dipstick in about 20 minutes. It starts and runs good but engine will stutter every few seconds and a puff of smoke comes out of the exhaust.
5 mar 2010 · If it's an air- cooled Briggs, there is a breather filter under the air filter that gets clogged and causes the problem you're describing. When you remove the filter, remove the plate that it rests on and you'll see a rubber hose with a couple of angle turns molded into it.
26 sie 2009 · This leak did coincide with an oil change from Castrol 20w50 to Mobil 5w40. (had the 20w50 in it to slow the prior leak from the front seal). It doesn't start leaking noticeably until the engine gets real hot. Oil is incredibly thin at full temp (300 degrees).
