Adult moths lay their eggs in or near dry food, where the larvae then hatch. The larvae then eat their surroundings as they grow, which can result in a fair bit of damage. After this, they pupate in a dry and dark location. The new adult moths will either lay their eggs in the same spot or travel long distances to new food sources.
