Consider this: The .22-250 Rem. is known as one of the fastest, flattest-shooting varmint rounds of all time, yet the 7mm RUM with 140-grain bullet shoots flatter than the .22-250 with 55-grain bullet. 11 wrz 2024 · For the hunter, a proper rifle chambered in .280 AI might just be the most efficient of the 7mm cartridges, giving plenty of horsepower and a flat trajectory, while working well in windy conditions. Factory ammunition is available from a number of reputable sources, namely Federal, Nosler and Hornady. Be careful with this one, it’s addicting.

21 lut 2024 · For extreme-range use, Hornady’s 180-grain ELD Match bullet is properly incredible. Endowed with impressive accuracy and an eye-bulging G1 BC of 0.796, this bullet has legs. It’s the long-range champion of factory-loaded 7mm ammunition and is rated to produce 2,950 fps of muzzle velocity.
The 7mm occupies the “sweet spot” between 6.5mm and 30 caliber–with an optimal balance between bullet weight and BC. It’s hard to beat 7mm ballistics with either a 6.5mm or a reasonably-sized 30, and the 7mm will give longer barrel life than a 6.5 mm with less recoil than a 30-caliber (of equal BC).
