I had quite a bad experience using a dual molex to 8 pin adapter. One day smoke started coming out of my computer. I immediately turned it off and was wondering what was going on. The smoke smelled like burn plastic. Updon inspection, the dual molex to 8 pin adapter was melted down.
2 cze 2020 · To clarify, the 8 pin on the motherboard is an EPS header for your CPU. You keep talking about GPU power, which is a DIFFERENT 8 pin connector that would be attached directly to the GPU if required. Lower end GPUs get enough power through the PCI slot via the 24 pin connector. Also CPUs can consume quite a bit of wattage.
