1 sty 2022 · So no, a 2x molex => 8 pin CPU would not be safe and adequate, but if you have an ancient power supply that has no 8 pin cpu connectors, it would work if you have very low power processors, like let's say a 4 core or maybe a 6 core processor, which won't consume more than around 60-80 watts.

27 lip 2020 · Inna sprawa, że przejściówka z jednego MOLEXa do 8-pin PCI-E to samobójstwo, bo puścisz pewnie +150W na jednym przewodzie 12V z wiązki MOLEX (w wiązce MOLEX masz 1 x 12V, 1 x 5V i 2 x GND). 2x MOLEX -> 8-pin PCI-E jest trochę bezpieczniejsze, o ile podłączysz to pod dwie osobne wiązki MOLEX z zasilacza.
From experience, it suffices to install the 8 pin connector on the left. The right 4-pin-connector is basically a redundancy that the CPU may draw upon under extreme load most likely only relevant when you do extreme overclocking.
2 cze 2020 · To clarify, the 8 pin on the motherboard is an EPS header for your CPU. You keep talking about GPU power, which is a DIFFERENT 8 pin connector that would be attached directly to the GPU if required. Lower end GPUs get enough power through the PCI slot via the 24 pin connector.

29 maj 2021 · My psu is of a little older design and only has a single 6 pin for the gpu. (It's 550w, which is the recommended PSU for r9 280x so it should be fine in terms of wattage). I'm planning on using a double molex to 8 pin adaptor to connect to my gpu which needs 6 pin + 8 pin.
