  3. From experience, it suffices to install the 8 pin connector on the left. The right 4-pin-connector is basically a redundancy that the CPU may draw upon under extreme load most likely only relevant when you do extreme overclocking.

  4. To clarify, the 8 pin on the motherboard is an EPS header for your CPU. You keep talking about GPU power, which is a DIFFERENT 8 pin connector that would be attached directly to the GPU if required. Lower end GPUs get enough power through the PCI slot via the 24 pin connector.

  5. 24 lis 2018 · Are you saying a 4 pin connector can actually power the CPU if I were to connect it to the 8 pin socket? Correct. Some motherboards might be picky and only boot if an 8-pin were connected but that usually applies to the higher-end boards which yours isn't.

  7. 22 lut 2021 · Note: there are many 8pin molex convert cables out there, but they convert from 2 molexes that plug into the PSU into a single 8 pin that plugs into a device, not the other way around. Some poor dude bought one thinking he could plug the 8 pin into the PSU and use the molexes to power some fans.
