30 sie 2022 · The clutch pedal needs to be adjusted so the Low gear position catches just barely above the floor board. Any tighter than that is going to quickly wear out the band. You adjust it by loosening the external lock nut, then tightening the center stud until the pedal adjustment is just above the floor mat when the pedal is stomped hard.
If I remember correctly, just remove the transmission cover, locate the three screws behind the clutch (all the way to the rear), remove the cotter pins and tighten each screw 1/2 turn, then replace the cotter pins being VERY CAREFUL to not drop them into the pan.

19 sie 2017 · EXCELLENT ARTICLE! I have found the relationship between the parking brake lever, clutch, low gear, and neutral to be very frustrating. Too many inter-related moving parts affected by wear and replacement parts with tolerances that differ from factory.
1. Put parking brake lever all the way forward. 2. Depress the L-H (clutch) pedal and hold it down hard for two seconds. 3. Depress the reverse pedal and hold it down hard for two seconds. 4. Pull parking brake lever 1/2 way back.
One possibility is that your high gear clutch fingers may be adjusted too tight. If you have a service manual (if you don't, get one!), look at the section on adjusting the high gear clutch fingers. You will see them after you remove floorboards and the transmission inspection cover.
