The AERA Technical Committee offers the following information regarding balance shaft alignment marks for 2010-2016 GM 2.4L VIN C, K & W engines. This information should be considered anytime the front timing chains have been removed.
The outer spacer/washer is in between the crank/balancerpulley and the lower timing gear and may remain in place when the pulley is removed.The spacer/washer has a dot/mark on its surface that may be mistaken for the lowertiming mark.
TDC. Top Position 4 Piston. Cylinder head Torque 30NM 90°+90°=180°.
26 lip 2021 · 2012 terrain 2.4 Timing Marks. My 2012 timing chain tensioner broke and it appears that after setting the engine to TDC the chain jumped a tooth or two but only on the crank shaft gear. I have the engine set to TDC and the intake timing mark is at 10 o'clock and the exhaust is at 2 o'clock, But the crank shaft gear is at 5 o'clock.
