These coolers, built to our specification since 1965 must rate as the single most commonly used component on racing cars world wide. The cooler consists of a variable number of aluminium pressed plates forming oil ways and end tanks, the oil ways contain turbulators.
The fix is as simple as unscrewing the original oil thermostat and installing a replacement. Our preference is to install a 165 degree replacement. This is a 40 degree reduction in opening temperature.

We include a 175f thermostat to ensure the engine reaches operating temperature and utilizes a bypass system to allow approximately 15 percent of the oil to be constantly flowing through the coolers. This system includes everything required for installation.
14 sie 2018 · Hi all, Although the best way to change the oil in an Rx8 is a subject already treated, it is always in the air to extract the oil from the coolers. The method of tilting the car left and right helps to extract the oil remaining in the ducts, but it does not manage to eliminate the liter of oil that is retained in the coolers.
