Second-degree AV block Mobitz type I exhibits the Wenckebach phenomenon, which means that there are ECG signs of gradual exhaustion of impulse conduction. This manifest on the ECG as gradual increase of PR interval before a block occurs.

This manuscript will describe the poorly understood subtle ECG patterns of Wenckebach conduction as seen in typical Mobitz type I AV block sequences and then attempt to apply the same footprints to similar conduction abnormalities seen in other regions of the heart outside the AV node.
