As I said, I read through the LearnMMD tutorials, as well as various YouTube tutorials to solve the side-by-side comparison error. My computer is 64bit, so I downloaded the 64bit program. I downloaded vcredist_x86, vcredist_x64_vc2008, vcredist_x64_vc2010, and directxJune2010 and installed them all.

Now, you can start up MMD and see that it works like a charm! But, you can also restart your computer after the installations if you'd like.
