14 lip 2009 · Have about 7 or 8 different setting fixtures ( micrometers if you will ) that I send out for calibration, not the gages themselves. With Sunnen, if the fixture is accurate, so will your gage and your measurement.

Setting a dial bore gauge is a simple concept. Set a micrometer to the size bore you will be testing. Set up the dial bore gauge with the extensions necessary for the bore diameter. Place the bore gauge between the micrometer’s spindle and anvil.
Looking for recommendations. I'd like to invest in a good quality dial bore gauge for home work. I was looking at the Mitutoyo 511-753 or Starrett. Budget would probably max be $300.
In search of a dial bore gage for home building, I would prefer ball contact and as long of depth as possible. Will be setting and checking against a new set of Mitutoyo mics.
4 mar 2008 · I have a Mitutoyo dial bore gage, and don't like it for use on bearings. The spring on the little compressible tip is VERY stiff, which causes the tip to dig into the bearings. This gouges them out, and makes it look like the crank has more clearance than it actually does.
