7 lut 2022 · I sourced an Evo 4 MAF sensor and a new air filter as the one on the car didn’t quite fit with the sensor and adapter installed. The front bumper came off and went to the body shop to have one of the mounting tabs repaired, and I replaced both front fog light bulbs.
Most people neglect the time element and only do maintenance on the mileage basis and this contributes to failures. You can find the maintenance schedule online and do an analysis of what the approximate cost will be at a minimum. You have to also factor in items like tires, brake pads, clutch, etc..
Lights that randomly stop working, pumps and motors that won’t turn on, and even taillights that short and catch on fire: these are all common problems that you might expect with an EVO 4. I’m lumping them all into a simple “electrical issue” category because that’s the root of the problem.

Before anything, disconnect your battery's negative terminal, and remove it completely if it's in the engine bay. If you have a positive battery terminal like myself in the engine bay, get that out of the way as well.
