21 mar 2024 · When measured in real dollars, the average cost of an MIT education for those who receive financial aid has been reduced by almost 25 percent over the past two decades. For undergraduates not receiving any need-based financial aid, tuition and fees will be (as noted earlier) $62,396 for the 2024-25 academic year.
The table below reflects standard graduate tuition rates for the 2024–2025 academic year (which are reviewed and likely to increase next year). Graduate programs in the MIT Sloan School of Management have their own tuition rates.
For the 2024–2025 academic year, the cost of attendance is $85,960. It includes costs that are billed by MIT, such as tuition, housing, and food, and estimates for other expenses, such as books, supplies, and personal expenses. We use this budget to determine financial aid for every student.

The table below reflects standard graduate tuition rates for the 2024-2025 academic year. Amounts are per term, unless noted. Payment of full tuition in the fall or spring terms also covers subjects offered for academic credit during the Independent Activities Period (IAP) in January.
