The piece played while descending down the Spinal staircase is a 1906 orchestral recording of “Sourire d'avril” that quickly distorts as time goes on. The name "Soul Survivor" is a play on words of the phrase "sole survivor". This refers to Minos Prime being a soul that survived his body's death.
