17 cze 2015 · To be exact, in the code there is a 1 in 7 chance of a block tick advancing the growth stage of a sapling; this means that 14 block ticks are required to grow a sapling (this is TWO stages, not three, since the first successful attempt will set the growth bit to 1, then the next will grow the sapling); 14 ticks is 955.78 seconds or about 16 ...
It needs a 5x5 unobstructed space above it. A cherry tree requires a 5×5 area of unobstructed space 8 blocks above its sapling to grow (9 blocks including the sapling itself). No horizontal clearance is needed at the base of the tree (a sapling planted in a hole 1 block deep can still grow).
Bone meal can be used to speed up the growth of the sapling, even to grow the tree without sufficient light. Saplings can grow into trees when placed on all variants of dirt (except dirt paths) or moss blocks. The sapling requires a light level of at least 9, and require a certain volume of space above the sapling, based on its type:
21 lis 2016 · 2×2 spruce trees require a 5×5 column of unobstructed space at least 14 blocks above the saplings to grow (15 blocks including the saplings themselves). This column is centered on the northwestern sapling. A 3×3 area is required at the base of the tree (the level of the saplings). See if your setup meets that criteria.
I'm not sure about the space, although it looks like there's enough for at least the smallest trees. The problem appears to be that your torch layout results in light level 8 in the block above the sapling, while they need light level 9 there in order to grow.
The most space-efficient way to prevent grown trees from blocking light to other saplings is to have every sapling directly next to a torch (not diagonal). This strategy yields a basic space efficiency of 80% since the pattern is made up of units of 1 torch + 4 saplings.
19 gru 2016 · For some reason while playing minecraft, my saplings did not want to grow for 3 in-game days. To my surprise, while googling this question multiple times, I found no answer. Why does this not work and how can I fix it?
