1 lis 2024 · Overseas military addresses must contain the APO or FPO designation along with a two-character "state" abbreviation of AE, AP, or AA and the ZIP Code or ZIP+4 Code. AE is used for Armed Forces in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Canada.
"Military Post Office (MPO)" refers to all post offices operated by the Military Departments. The terms "Army/Air Force Post Office (APO) and Fleet Post Office (FPO)" shall be used in addressing mail. DoD 4525.6-L-1, "Military Post Office Location List (MPOLL)," January 1986, is hereby cancelled.

The Delivery Address Line for all APO/FPO military mail must be standardized to include the appropriate military address type with its assigned number, plus a box number. There are five possible military address types: CPR (Consolidated Postal Room), OPC (Official Postal Center), PSC (Postal Service Center), UPR (Unit Postal Room), and UNIT.
