7 mar 2022 · The Midnight Blue rose has a somewhat deceiving name, as it’s actually a deep, velvety black-purple with the base of the rose being lighter than the top of the petals. The flower has anywhere between 17 and 25 petals and a diameter of 2.75″ per rose once fully bloomed.
Midnight Blue has a small bloom and often varies greatly in color. At its very best, it is a dark dusky purple that looks almost black. At the other end of the color possibilities are the reddish light-purple blooms that still don't look bad.
'Midnight Blue' is a compact, upright, bushy, deciduous shrub with thorny stems bearing pinnate leaves divided into ovate, toothed, semi-glossy, dark green leaflets and strongly fragrant, double, dark purple flowers from early summer into autumn.
