More importantly, are the "broken" icons causing any troubles in Word (or in Windows in general)?
29 kwi 2020 · Inserted symbols not displaying correctly in Word 2019. Some of my Word documents now open with inserted symbols changed into other characters. For example, "1/2" has become a "2", "1/4" is a "3", "7/8" is now "f", "3/4" shows as a colon , the degree symbol is now "E" and the apostrophe is an equal sign. What is going on? Replies (6) .

Open Office document like Excel or Word. Go to “Insert > Symbol > More Symbols” menu. This will open Symbol utility. Change the font as “Wingdings” under “Symbols” tab.
