15 gru 2016 · I run Windows 7 64-bit and want to run XP to use old software. XP installed OK in VirtualBox, but the window in which it runs is 11" diagonally, even if I choose V iew/ F ull-screen mode in the XP window. Then the XP window just gets a thick black border but is still 11" diagonally.
11 kwi 2020 · The guest windows xp pro. The aim was to use this virtual machine for retro gaming as the 16 bit applications do not start on windows 10. The virtual machine works perfectly but when I run the game in fullscreen it remains small in the center and is not scaled to the screen resolution ( 1080p).
25 maj 2020 · I would like to get a nice full-screen DOS session going with VBox. To get a better visual experience I've found that switching host display resolution to 640x480, before launching VBox, has MS-DOS fill the screen nearly perfect without pillar-boxing.

The shortcut we launch the Dos app with is set to full screen, window size 80 and 25 and screen buffer 80 and 25. This is what makes it work full screen on a physical XP computer. As soon as we double click it the screen changes to a tiny window.
On our old Windows XP computers the resolution is 1024x768 and the shortcut that calls the DOS program has the option set to run in full screen. As soon as you double click it the DOS app loads full screen. Exiting it returns you to the Windows XP desktop.
