26 paź 2023 · Hi Cheryl, this is a definitely a tech support scam. Microsoft (or any other legitimate company) will never lock up your computer with a popup banner asking you to contact them for assistance. To kill the stuck browser process, do whichever of the following works:
If you receive a phone call claiming to be from Microsoft, or see a pop-up window on your PC with a fake warning message and a phone number to call and get your “issue” fixed, it’s better to be safe and not click any links or provide any personal information.

The pop-up claims your data is at risk and provides a phone number to call for removal of the supposed infection.
