  1. 15 lut 2013 · I have a friend who mentioned today that he had a 2 speed rear end, all rebuilt. I'm thinking about getting it from him for my up and coming Model A project. My original plan with it was to put a T5 behind my flathead and run it back to a banjo rear end.

  2. 23 sie 2015 · Get someone in the cab and shift the 2 speed (with the key on) and see if the power toggles between the 2 terminals. If it does and the motor is not shifting the 2 speed, either the limit switch or motor is bad.

  3. 14 lut 2022 · Very curious about these 2 speed axles used in Fords/ I know of some nearby. I know that some years are more preferable than others, the late ones (40s) used an electric switch. How strong are these axles? Has anyone adapted one to Hotchkiss rear suspension ( live axle, parallel dual leaf springs)? Did they all use a closed driveshaft?

  4. 31 lip 2023 · I'm looking for literature / information on installation / controls etc. for a 1940 era Columbia 2 speed rear end. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. What car are you installing it in?

  5. You would either replace the vacuum valve (on the frame under the cab) with an electric valve or rig a solonoid to switch the existing valve. You would then install a small solonoid behind the dash to shift the 2 speed speedometer drive at the same time to keep the speedo in sync with the rear end.

  6. 8 paź 2023 · I just replaced the 2 speed shift motor and the circuit board/wires that seem to be notorious for corroding. Good news: now when I depress the clutch and pull up the red shift lever I can hear a clunk in the rear end signifying a shift to the high gears.

  7. 21 lis 2011 · Where you have a gear reduction in the rear axle, these have two ratio's back there. Just shifted by a seperate knob. Usually found on older MD trucks with five speeds or on heavy haul rigs looking for more possible ratios.
