  2. Welcome to the Michigan Department of Corrections’ searchable database, which we call the Offender Tracking and Information System (OTIS). All of the records contained in OTIS are for prisoners and parolees who are CURRENTLY under the jurisdiction of the MDOC, as well as those serving a prison sentence but who are out on writ.

  3. Searching by the number will return information on one prisoner and is the most accurate way to find a particular offender. The Michigan Legislature allows removal of offenders from the website after three years has elapsed from the discharge date. This holds true even if the offender dies.

  4. A search result will provide information about any offender who is, or was, in a Michigan prison, on parole or probation under the supervision of the MDOC, has transferred in or out of Michigan under the Michigan Interstate Compact, or who has escaped or absconded from their sentence.

VINELink is a service through which victims of a crime can use the telephone or internet to search for information regarding the custody status of an offender and to register to receive telephone and e-mail notification when the offender’s custody status changes. The VINE toll-free number for the Michigan VINE system is 1-800-770-7657.

  7. These courts are identified with a check mark under the "7-Year Criminal Sentence Filter" column of the MiCOURT case search. You must contact these courts directly to obtain information on any case files where the sentencing occurred more than seven years ago.
