17 lip 2022 · I finally finished my Y-axis linear upgrade - it got put on hold for a few months due to urgently needed carpal tunnel surgery. Anyway, it came out quite well despite finding a few issues along the way - I really need to update the design before I publish it.

17 lip 2022 · I am looking at a used custom built fixed gantry cnc router for upgrading. It uses v-slot profiles and has 2 x 500mm SFU1605 ballscrews and has a workarea of about (y) 365mm (x) 290mm. My plan is to change the 500mm ball screw on the y-axis with a 650mm that I have lying around.
17 lip 2022 · I also replace the tiny set screws with longer M3 socket cap screws so if the socket gets stripped, I can use a plyers or vice grip to get them apart. This method II just described is way easier than what I did on the lead screws on my first ever CNC build.

Loosen the vertical X-axis mounts and slide them as far rear as they'll go, tighten the bolts (this minimises Y-axis area loss)
