17 lip 2022 · I decided to implement the Y axis upgrade on my standard size 3018. All details clear (will order 300mm lenght rails only), however wondering if the 2080 side increase is a must to have your setup - I mean the printed adapter & 2020 rail & MGN15H rails combo - will work smooth with standard machine hight as well?
17 lip 2022 · Upgraded 3018 Pro using MGN15H Linear Rails and a 500w Spindle As an example, I finished my carbon fibre bed carriage last week, and the 0.3mm deep mounts are perfect in each corner. Just another hobbyist who can’t stop upgrading his CNC Machine.
I got the 3018 and love it for small things. However, I sold my 3018 Pro after a week and got the 3018 "max metal" from AliExpress as it is much sturdier. I also upgraded the X-axis to linear rails and got a better z-slide with a bit longer max travel. It's a really nice machine for wood and thinner aluminum. I really enjoy it.
Hey guys, looking at a 3018 pro for mostly engraving, I can buy one with a 5500mw laser and the standard spindle, or there's one locally for half the cost and I could add a better laser. What would be the steps to add a laser to just the mill version?
SainSmart Genmitsu 3018 PRO seems to have good online reviews. If I go to sainsmart website, I can buy the machine for around 230 eur + shipping. On the other hand, the internet is full (aliexpress, amazon, etc) of noname "3018 PRO" routers without the sainsmart logo, but they look pretty much identical to the one being sold on sainsmart.
I've got the genuine 3018 from sainsmart (with 3040 extension) and the stock spindle. I'm only carving wood but want to upgrade the crappy spindle. From what I understand, if you get the 20k upgrade you need a new/seperate power supply since the stock one it comes with is underpowered.
