The Metronome is an item introduced in Generation IV. When held by a Pokémon, it boosts the power of a move by 20% (10% in Generation IV) each time it is used successfully and consecutively. The boost cannot be larger than +100%, and resets once the chain breaks, e.g. the move fails to hit or another move is used.
