2 wrz 2010 · The small peak-to-trough steady-state variation with 10 mg twice- and 20 mg once-daily dosing schemes could be anticipated because of the inherently long half-life of elimination of 60 to 80 hours in subjects with normal renal function.

In memantine‐naive subjects, the initiation of 20 mg once daily is predicted to result in an initial peak plasma concentration of 19.5 μg/L, twice that which would occur after an initial dose of 10 mg, 5 hours after ingestion. Because the elimination half‐life of memantine is approximately 70 hours, steady state is reached after 2 weeks.
