Certification of non-licensed DD personnel will authorize individuals to prepare, administer and document prescribed medications in accordance with Ohio Revised Code and Administrative Code laws and rules which allow DD personnel to administer medication with and without RN delegation.
Medication Administration I. Due to the major responsibility administering medications has, this series of courses is designed to instruct unlicensed Developmental Disabilities (DD) personnel how to safely administer medications in various settings authorized by law.
Curriculum. DODD-approved curriculum must be used for all medication administration certification initial training classes, including the stand-alone vagus nerve stimulation (VNS), epinephrine auto-injector, and over-the-counter (OTC) topical medications for comfort, cleansing, and protection of intact skin, hair, nails, teeth, and oral surfaces.
