Organizations need a leader who has the required characteristics and skills to sustain their existence, to grow and develop and to achieve their goals. Leadership is the process of facilitating individual and collective efforts and influencing others to achieve common goals. Leadership represents a process, while the leader refers to an individual.
The traits of an effective leader or the distinguishing qualities that differentiate a successful leader can be identified according to Yukl G. (2013) in his description of the “Trait Approaches” to leadership.
Gary. Yukl (2006) defines leadership as “the process of influencing others to understand and agree about what needs to be done and how to do it, and the process of facilitat-ing individual and collective efforts to accomplish shared objectives” (p. 8).
