We hope this will add variety to your dinner table routine and encourage everyone in your family to participate in saying grace together before meals. These blessings are not just for special occasions, but for every time we sit down at the table.
8 paź 2019 · I thank You that we can come together as a group, fellowship and eat without judgment. When Your Son graced the earth, He sat at the table with tax collectors and sinners. I pray that we as people of God open our dinner table to all for there are many who want to follow You.
Our meal prayers may include thanks to the Father for send-ing his Son to save us, or to Jesus for obeying to the point of death in order to open eternal life to us. We may also show our gratitude to Jesus by doing an act of penance or mercy this day, or by giving alms to the needy.
Here, then, are some table graces: sung prayers fitting for family use at mealtime. They are playful, yet reverent; they work well with minimal accompaniment or none at all; they are simple enough to be sung well by both children and parents, yet not simplistic or silly.
