McKinley Park has to be one of my favorite parks in the Greater Sacramento area! It simply has it all! Just to list a few of it's glories- tennis courts, updated playground, Sac Public Library, community pool, a pond with ducks, rose garden, and picnic tables.
The McKinley Park is a great place to go for a relaxing day with friends or family. With its large green areas and beautiful rose garden, it's perfect for a romantic picnic. The park also has tennis courts and playgrounds for the kids, as well as a pool and lake with wild birds.
October 18, 2018. McKinley Park is a historically significant city park located in Sacramento, California. The Sacramento Street Railway Company built the park in 1871 to attract passengers to its line and the park continues to serve as both a recreational area and a gathering spot for residents of the greater Sacramento area.
The park boasts a variety of mature trees, including English elm, pin oak, ponderosa pine, and coast redwood. A fire destroyed the wooden playground in the summer of 2012, and a new, $1.5-million dollar playground has been built in its place.
With the gorgeous greenery, the ducks, geese and squirrels, people walking their dogs and families playing…this park has a wonderful ambience! The playground is a hit with kids of all ages. The castle-like climbing structure is perfect for playing tag and hide-and-go-seek.
