How to tell if the email you receive is legitimately from McAfee. There are many ways to spot phishing emails. Look for: Spelling and grammar mistakes. Suspicious links and attachments. Requests for personal or financial information. Fraudulent customer service websites.
Should the scam occur via email, report it to the email provider. They can take action against the scammer’s email account, such as suspending or cancelling it. Keep in mind that scams are harmful not just to individuals, but also to the platforms they happen on.
You can report fraudulent messages and scams impersonating McAfee to scam@mcafee.com. If you lose any money to a scam, call your bank immediately using the number on the back of your bank card and report it to Action Fraud or call the police on 101 if you’re in Scotland.
