Once you buy the mazdaEdit software, the developer (epifansoft) emails a download link and instructions. When you have installed it the software provides a hardware id for that computer, which is emailed back to epifansoft along with your name and the car it is to be used with.

The rx8 ecu sends 9 different message IDs (from what I can tell) which I have partially decoded thanks to google/a bench ecu/bugging a guy on youtube - and I have RPM/boost/coolant temp/IAT decoded from the ford ecu.
