The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) secondary drinking water standards recommend a maximum TDS level of 500 ppm for drinking water [5]. TDS in water may be measured in a laboratory or at home. The laboratory options need specialized equipment that most people don’t have access to, and the at-home options require a TDS meter.
