Downloads. Files to install Maxima can be downloaded from the Files section in the Sourceforge repository. That section contains links to various different versions and releases of Maxima.
Download the latest Maxima version, which is currently: 5.47.0-Windows. Modern PCs are usually running a 64-bit version of the operating system, so download the file ending with win64.exe . Older PCs may be running a 32-bit Windows, then download the win32.exe version.

Maxima is a computer algebra system comparable to commercial systems like Mathematica and Maple. It emphasizes symbolic mathematical computation: algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and much more. For example, Maxima solves x^2-r*x-s^2-r*s=0 giving the symbolic results [x=r+s, x=-s].

18 sie 2024 · This installer does only contain WxMaxima. You will need a Maxima installation too and will need to configure the path to Maxima in WxMaxima. Maybe Windows will warn you, that "This program is not commonly downloaded and could harm your computer."
