8 wrz 2016 · The Kar 98k features the standard '98 action. The safety, which was derived from earlier Mauser models, is three-position. With the thumbpiece to the left the gun can be fired. Up, the gun is "on safe" but the bolt can be removed. To the right, the gun cannot be fired, nor can the bolt be taken out.
