Maudsley's test is used by clinicians to confirm the diagnosis of Lateral Epicondylitis ''Tennis Elbow''. Epicondylitis represents a degenerative process involving the origin of the extensor tendons at the lateral elbow and the flexor-pronator muscle group at the medial elbow.

Maudsley’s test: The examiner resists extension of the third digit of the hand, while palpating the lateral epicondyle. A positive test is indicated by pain over the lateral epicondyle. An 88% sensitivity has been found for including the LET diagnosis but not excluding it with confidence.

Conclusions: Cozen's test and grip strength measurement present high accuracy in the diagnosis of LET but are poorly investigated. USI and MRI provide variable diagnostic accuracy depending on the entities reported and should be recommended with caution when differential diagnosis is necessary.
