9 paź 2024 · Lateral Epicondylitis (also known as Tennis Elbow) is an overuse injury caused by eccentric overload at the origin of the common extensor tendon, leading to tendinosis and inflammation of the ECRB. Diagnosis is made clinically with tenderness over the lateral epicondyle made worse with resisted wrist extension.
Maudsley’s test: The examiner resists extension of the third digit of the hand, while palpating the lateral epicondyle. A positive test is indicated by pain over the lateral epicondyle. An 88% sensitivity has been found for including the LET diagnosis but not excluding it with confidence.
