If A is a vector, any(A) returns logical true (1) if any of the elements of A are nonzero, and returns logical false (0) if all the elements are zero.
any(A) tests whether at least one element of A returns logical 1 (true). If A is a matrix, any tests elements of each column. If A is a multidimensional array, any tests elements along one dimension.

7 maj 2017 · As pointed out, the correct solution is to reshape the result into a vector. Then any will give the desired result. Thus, any(A(:)) gives the global result, true if any of numel(A) elements were true. You could also have used. any(reshape(A,[],1)) which uses the reshape operator explicitly.
