I just watched this with my daughter for the first time and I was super impressed. It’s rare that a movie meant for kids is still enjoyable for adults without resorting to double entendres and pop culture references but Matilda pulled it off with aplomb.

1 paź 2020 · The movie goes out of its way to consistently remind the audience that we should care about Matilda in a way that her parents never could. It is heartbreaking to see them tear her apart and deny her intelligence, even though she consistently proves to us that she is in the right.
